Technology is ubiquitous, touching almost every part of our lives, our
communities and our homes. As an educator, I believe integrating technology
into the classroom is imperative for students to acquire the skills they need
to be successful in a complex, highly technological knowledge based economy. I
also feel that technology is extremely important in supporting many components
in education: active engagement, participation in groups, frequent interaction
and feedback, and connection to real-world experts. Technology offers educators
effective ways to reach different types of learners, as well as the ability to
assess students understanding through multiple means.
Personally, I have a huge interest in incorporating technology in my
classroom, however possible. Whether it be through the use of smartboards,
response systems, projectors, document cameras, IPads, I have seen how well
students identify, learn and become engaged with hands on technological based
learning. My personal knowledge of technology is constantly expanding and
evolving. I can only hope to have the opportunity to share that with my future
students.
